Here is everything you’ll need to make this matcha pineapple smoothie:
Frozen pineapple: Pineapple is nutritious and gives this matcha smoothie a delicious sweetness.
Frozen banana: Using frozen banana will help give this smoothie a thick, smooth, and creamy texture.
Matcha powder: The star of this recipe! Make sure you use a decent quality matcha to give this smoothie the best flavor.
Chia seeds: Chia seeds add nutrients such as healthy fats and plant-based protein to this matcha pineapple smoothie. They also help thicken the smoothie.
Oat milk: Oat milk is used to blend this smoothie, but you can use a different type of milk if desired.
Tips
Use frozen fruit – Frozen fruit will give the best texture for this smoothie. They will make this smoothie thick and creamy, and give it a nice chill.
Blend the chia seeds – Make sure you blend the chia seeds into this smoothie will all other ingredients. This will give the smoothie a nice smooth texture.
Adjustments and substitutions
You can try using a different milk – I love using oat milk for this smoothie because it has a nice, neutral taste. You can try using a different type of milk, but make sure it doesn’t have an overpowering flavor.
You can use less matcha - This recipe calls for one teaspoon of matcha powder, but you can use ½ teaspoon or ¾ teaspoons if you want less caffeine.
You can omit the chia seeds – Chia seeds are added to this recipe for their nutritional benefit and to thicken the smoothie a bit. However they do not affect the taste of the smoothie and they can be omitted.
