Here is what you will need to make this peanut butter and jelly smoothie:
- Frozen strawberries and frozen blueberries: The combination of strawberries and blueberries creates the perfect jelly flavor for this pb and j smoothie.
- Peanut butter: Of course we need peanut butter in a peanut butter and jelly smoothie! I like to use a natural peanut butter with no added sugar or oil.
- Maple syrup: This is used to add some more sweetness to your smoothie.
- Rolled oats: Rolled oats help thicken the smoothie.
- Oat milk: I like to use oat milk to blend this smoothie, but you could also try a different type of milk, as long as it doesn’t have an overpowering flavor.
Tips for making this peanut butter and jelly smoothie
- Make sure you use frozen fruit! This will ensure that your smoothie is thick and frosty.
- Add more milk if you can’t get your smoothie blended, but add it slowly. If you add too much liquid at once, your smoothie may get too thin. Add a bit at a time and try blending.
Adjustments and substitutions
- Oat milk is my milk of choice for this smoothie, but you can use a different type of milk if you’d like. Make sure you don’t use a milk with a strong flavor that would alter the taste of this smoothie.
- Rolled oats can be omitted from this smoothie, but I do recommend them for added thickness and nutrition.
- I add maple syrup to this smoothie for extra sweetness, but if you find it sweet enough without maple syrup, you can simply omit it. You could also add a bit more maple syrup if you want your smoothie to be sweeter.
